Link Checker Find broken links, with a status code for every target

Enter a URL. The Link Checker fetches every link on the page and shows you its status code.

User agent
Websites that verify Googlebot by IP recognize an imitated user agent and often respond differently.
We store the request with your IP address to run the tool. More in the privacy policy.
Reading the result

Broken links come first, then the detours

The checker sorts links by urgency. Use the filters to hide the rest.

BrokenThe target responds with 4xx or 5xx. Fix or remove these links first.
RedirectThe target has moved. Put the new URL straight into the link to save a detour.
UnreachableUnknown domain, timeout or connection refused. External targets are often affected.

JavaScript

Do you want to check the source code or the rendered page?

Without rendering, the checker reads the links from the source code. With rendering, it loads the page like a browser. If there are more links there, the result tells you.

  • Source codeHow a bot that doesn't run JavaScript sees the page.
  • RenderedHow the page looks after a browser has run the JavaScript.

Check one page here, and the crawler checks all of them

The Link Checker looks at one URL. The searchVIU SEO Crawler checks every URL of your website each week and shows which pages carry a broken link.

  • Full crawl every weekIncluding JavaScript, even with millions of URLs.
  • Broken internal links with their sourceYou see which page the link sits on and where it points.

Frequently asked questions

How many links does the checker test?
Up to 300 different targets per page, internal links first. If a target appears more than once, it is only fetched once.
Are external links checked too?
Yes. External targets also get a status code and redirect. Some third-party servers block bots, so a link may show up as unreachable or with a 403 even though it works in the browser.
Does the checker find links created by JavaScript?
Yes, with the “Render with JavaScript” option. Without it, the checker only reads the source code.
Can I check my whole website?
Here you check one page. For all pages, there is the SEO Crawler.
What do you store from my request?
We store the URLs you entered, the result and your IP address to run the tool. Fetched page content is deleted automatically after seven days. We also use the checked domain to see which companies are interested in the topic.
