How it works

Your AI tool is connected in four steps.

Many SEOs already work with Claude or their own agents. Without access to their own data, those tools can only guess. The searchVIU MCP server speaks the Model Context Protocol and brings your reports into your AI tool.

Release

Every project stays locked until an admin releases it.

Every project is locked for MCP until a project admin releases it in the settings. The admin has to confirm the release. searchVIU records who granted it and when.

  • Read-onlyThe MCP server reads the project's data and cannot change anything.
  • ExplicitWithout a release, a project stays locked.
  • TraceableEvery release is stored with the person and the time.
  • VisibleYour client shows which projects are still locked.

Reports as the interface

Your client reads reports with all the data in them.

Access runs through your project's reports, with all widgets and query results. This keeps data volume and costs predictable, and your AI tool works with the same figures as your team.

MCP and WebMCP

MCP is for your data, WebMCP is for your website.

The MCP server brings your searchVIU data into your AI tool. WebMCP is a separate topic aimed at AI agents that visit your website. With it, the website offers them tools, for example for search or the shopping cart. The WebMCP Audit checks whether your website does this.

Inside searchVIU

Prefer working directly in the project? The AI assistant helps.

If you work without your own AI tool, use the AI assistant in searchVIU. It answers questions about crawl, Search Console and GA4 data and draws charts in the chat.

Frequently asked questions about the MCP server

Which clients work?

Clients that support MCP over Streamable HTTP with OAuth, for example Claude Code and Claude Desktop. Your own agents can connect too.

Can an AI tool change our data?

No. The MCP server reads the project's data and cannot change anything. Your AI tool retrieves projects and reports and does not create anything.

Where is the data stored?

In searchVIU, it is stored on Google Cloud in the EU. Whatever your AI tool retrieves via the MCP server is then processed by the provider of that tool, under the terms of your contract with them. That is why every project stays locked until a project admin releases it. searchVIU does not train any AI on your data. More about security

Is there an API?

The REST API is not public. For your own AI tools and agents, the MCP server is the intended route; for BI tools, it is the SEO Data Warehouse.

What does the MCP server cost?

Nothing extra. The MCP server is part of SEO Monitoring, from €399 per month with 50,000 URLs included. You will find all prices on the pricing page.
