Expected trend

Every property gets a corridor, and anything that falls outside it is reported.

searchVIU imports your Search Console data every day. From it, searchVIU builds a weekly series with an expected corridor for each property. If clicks or impressions fall outside it, this becomes a finding. searchVIU holds back minor fluctuations.

Causes

searchVIU assigns fewer clicks to one of four typical reasons.

Fixed rules assign each deviation to a cause. That way you know whether you need to work on the page or whether people are simply searching less.

1Ranking

The page ranks lower for its search queries.

2CTR and SERP

The position stays the same, but clicks fall. Often the search results page has changed.

3Demand

People are searching less, for example for seasonal reasons.

4URL change

Google shows a different URL from your website for the search queries.

Technology and performance together

First the page changes, then the clicks change.

When a curve drops, the crawl changes, the Page Watch alerts and the history of every URL are in the same project. You look for the cause in one place.
