Securing a relaunch When a relaunch is coming up, searchVIU supports every step.
searchVIU compares every URL of the live website with its target on the DEV site. After the go-live, monitoring reports what is still missing.
Four steps lead from the first crawl to long after the go-live
In a relaunch, traffic is often lost through small details, such as a missing redirect or a text that was not carried over. The earlier searchVIU is involved, the more of this is spotted before the go-live.
Which categories and pages bring in the clicks?
beforeEvery live URL compared with its target on the DEV site
beforeA target for every old URL, export for the server
change-overCrawl of the new website, followed by ongoing SEO monitoring
afterwardsIdeally, start with the pre-analysis, at the latest as soon as there is a DEV site.
Every URL compared and weighted by its clicks
searchVIU places every URL of the live website next to its target on the DEV site. Are the keywords the page is found for today still in the same places? Are the content and internal links still there?
searchVIU also counts the pages per page type. If product pages are suddenly missing on the DEV site, you will see it before the go-live.

searchVIU suggests a target for every old URL
Redirect mapping suggests a new URL for every old one, based on content similarity. You edit large volumes in bulk and see in a preview what will change before you save. You export the finished plan as CSV or directly for Apache and nginx.

Once the relaunch is live, searchVIU keeps checking
After the go-live, searchVIU crawls the new website with the same settings as in the DEV phase. A 404 report shows old URLs without a redirect. On the old domain, searchVIU checks whether the redirects point to the right new URLs.
