HTTP Status Code Checker All status codes for up to 100 URLs at a glance

The checker fetches every URL and shows the status code, redirects and key headers. You see straight away which pages don't respond cleanly.

User agent (up to 3)
Websites that verify Googlebot by IP recognize an imitated user agent and often respond differently.
We store the request with your IP address to run the tool. More in the privacy policy.
Status codes

What do the individual status codes mean?

The first digit shows the class of the status code. For SEO, what matters most is the final status after all redirects.

ClassMeaningTypical codes
2xxThe page responds. Google can crawl and index it.200
3xxRedirect to another URL. 301 and 308 count as permanent, 302 and 307 as temporary.301, 302, 307, 308
4xxThe page is missing or blocked. Google drops it from the index over time.404, 410, 403
5xxServer error. If it persists, Google crawls more slowly and eventually removes the page.500, 502, 503

User agent

Every bot gets its own response

Some servers respond differently to Googlebot than to a browser, or lock out AI bots. Pick up to three user agents and compare the results side by side.

Frequently asked questions

How many URLs can I check at once?
Up to 100 URLs per check, with up to three user agents. Duplicate URLs only count once.
Why does Googlebot get a different status code from my browser?
Some servers, CDNs or bot protection services respond differently depending on the user agent. Many also verify Googlebot by IP address. An imitated Googlebot user agent coming from a different server is then often blocked. The URL Inspection in Search Console shows how your site really responds to Googlebot.
What is searchVIUbot?
The user agent searchVIU uses to crawl websites. User agent, IP addresses and how it handles robots.txt are listed on the bot page.
Does the checker follow redirects?
Yes. You see every step of the chain with its status code and the URL that responds at the end. For chains in detail, use the Redirect Checker.
What do you store from my request?
We store the URLs you entered, the result and your IP address to run the tool. Fetched page content is deleted automatically after seven days. We also use the checked domain to see which companies are interested in the topic.
