What became of ContentKing

Since 2025, ContentKing has been called Conductor Monitoring. Today it is one of four products on the Conductor platform, alongside rank tracking and AI visibility (Intelligence), content creation (Creator) and interfaces (AgentStack). Conductor does not publish prices. Monitoring is part of the Essentials package with 100,000 pages, Growth with 500,000 pages and Enterprise.

What ContentKing does well

  • It requests every page within the booked scope again and again. Pages with high importance, frequent changes or errors come up more often.
  • The robots.txt is checked every 5 minutes, sitemaps up to hourly.
  • Changes to the title, meta data, status code, hreflang and custom elements are stored per page, for up to 60 months depending on the contract.
  • Alerts can be fine-tuned, weighted by importance and the number of affected pages.

How often ContentKing checks a page

Conductor works without a fixed crawl schedule. All pages sit in a queue, and the order depends on importance, changes and errors. Conductor does not publish how often a single page comes up. The documentation gives a rate of one request per second as an example. At that rate, one pass over 100,000 pages takes a little over a day in theory, and important pages come up again sooner. A higher rate is available once the domain is verified, the highest level only in the Enterprise package.

Why teams look for an alternative

If you bought ContentKing as a lean monitoring tool, you now find it inside a large platform for SEO and AI search. Some features depend on the package. JavaScript rendering is missing in Essentials and costs extra in the higher packages. Conductor stores the complete HTML of a page only in the Enterprise package. For relaunches, Conductor offers a service, but the product has no tool for it. Alerts go out by email, Slack, Teams or in the app. There is no webhook.

Which type of tool do you need?

The tools on this page solve the same task in four ways. The graphic shows schematically how each type checks over one week.

All pages in a queue

Requests all pages one after another, again and again, important ones more often. How soon a page comes up again depends on the rate and the size of the website. This is how ContentKing works.

MTWTFSS
Full crawl plus Page Watch

Crawls the entire website every week, more often if you want, and checks the most important pages continuously, spread across the day. This is how searchVIU works.

MTWTFSS
Scheduled crawls

Captures the whole website at fixed times, often very fast. In between, the tool checks nothing or only a list of URLs. This is how Lumar, Botify and Audisto work.

MTWTFSS
Watchdog for selected URLs

Checks a list of important pages at a fixed interval, without crawling the whole website. This is how Little Warden and SEORadar work, and the Content Guard component at seoClarity.

MTWTFSS
Crawl of the websiteindividual requests in betweenSchematic, one week from Monday to Sunday

The lines are blurred. Scheduled crawls at a high rate come close to continuous monitoring, and a queue over all pages also needs time for one pass on large websites. What matters is which pages are checked how often, and what happens between two checks.

The alternatives

Every card has the same fields. The information comes from the vendors' websites, pricing pages and documentation, last checked on October 17, 2026.

What searchVIU does not replace

If one of these points matters to you, another tool fits better, or you stay with Conductor.

All pages in a loop

searchVIU crawls the whole website once a week, more often on request. Page Watch checks the most important pages continuously, from 1,000 pages depending on the project. ContentKing requests all pages within the booked scope again and again in a queue.

robots.txt and sitemaps

searchVIU checks the robots.txt every 15 minutes and sitemaps daily. Conductor checks the robots.txt every 5 minutes and sitemaps up to hourly.

Long history

searchVIU stores HTML and a screenshot per URL for six months. Conductor stores changes to individual values such as the title or status code for up to 60 months, depending on the contract.

SSO and German interface

There is no single sign-on. The interface is in English, consulting is available in German and English.

Tests in the CI/CD pipeline

searchVIU crawls staging regularly. There is no integration that stops a build.

Content creation

searchVIU has no content writer like Conductor Creator.

Frequently asked questions

Does searchVIU report in real time?
Page Watch checks the most important pages continuously, spread across the day, from 1,000 pages depending on the project. If Page Watch detects a change, the alert usually arrives within a few minutes by email, Slack, Teams or webhook. searchVIU checks the robots.txt every 15 minutes, and the weekly full crawl covers all other pages.
Does ContentKing really check all pages continuously?
ContentKing requests all pages within the booked scope one after another, again and again. Which page comes next depends on its importance, on changes and on errors. Conductor does not publish how often a single page is checked. The documentation gives a rate of one request per second as an example. At this rate, one pass over 100,000 pages takes a little over a day in theory.
Does ContentKing still exist?
Yes. Conductor acquired ContentKing in 2022, and since 2025 the product has been called Conductor Monitoring. It is one of four products on the Conductor platform.
Can I book Conductor Monitoring on its own?
On Conductor's pricing page, monitoring is part of the Essentials, Growth and Enterprise packages. A separate monitoring package is not listed there. If in doubt, ask Conductor directly.
What is the difference between continuous monitoring and a scheduled crawl?
A scheduled crawl captures the website at fixed times, for example every week. Continuous monitoring requests pages again and again in between and reports changes as soon as they show up. Many teams need both: the crawl for the structure, the monitoring for the most important pages.
Which alternative is the cheapest?
Little Warden starts at €29.99 per month, but only checks the URLs you enter. The tools' prices refer to different units (pages, URLs, credits, URL tests). So compare the scope first and then the price.

How we compared

We read the vendors' websites, pricing pages and documentation, as of October 17, 2026. Review portals and third-party estimates are not included. We did not use accounts or trials for this comparison. The information on searchVIU comes from our own product.

Vendors change their products and prices, and we may also overlook something. If any information seems outdated or wrong to you, write to us. We will check it and update the page.
